PUPCAT Bakery began in 2003 after a dear canine friend Sug was diagnosed with a rare cancer called thyroid carcinoma. I started making and baking treats for my four-legged chum because I wanted her to receive all-natural, wholesome and freshly made foods.

Realizing how much I was truly enjoying the journey of creating healthy and fun dog treats, it occurred to me that there might be other dogs that would also enjoy these tasty and healthy goodies. I started sharing them with friends and soon after, started selling them at local retail shops and on-line.

The "CAT" in PUPCAT could not exist without the three cats who own me; Buddha, Artemis and Oliver. All three cats have very particular palettes and are much harder to please than dogs (as most cats are). We are always working on new treats for the feline variety. If a new treat receives a "2 out 3 cat-rating" the product is ready to go to market.

Since 2003, I have had the great honor of meeting so many wonderful pet owners who are dedicated to giving their companion animals top quality treats. It is truly inspiring to create and provide a line of treats for a community of people who have such a deep love, respect and commitment to their animals.

Sug died January 29, 2005. Though I miss her every day, she remains a constant source of inspiration.
