FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is carob?
The fruit of the carob tree is a pod which is then ground into a fine powder.  Carob is completely natural, virtually fat-free, rich in pectin, is non-allergenic, has abundant protein, and has no oxalic acid, which interferes with absorption of calcium.  Carob is also high in fiber. Dogs with a sensitive stomach do very well with carob.

Is carob the same as chocolate?
No. It is critical to understand that chocolate is VERY DANGEROUS for any pet to consume.  Never give your pet any foods containing chocolate or chocolate by-products.  Chocolate contains theobromine and can be toxic to dogs in large enough quantities.  Theobromine is a compound in the same family as caffeine.

Is carob safe for dogs?
YES! Because carob contains none of the dangerous ingredients found in the cocoa bean, like allergy-producing antibodies or the caffeine stimulant theobromine, which can be fatal to dogs, CAROB IS COMPLETELY SAFE to give your pooch.  It's the canine confection they love to eat!

How do I serve my cat Tuna Sushi?
Any way they please! Sprinkle it on their food or give it to them straight up as a treat.

What is the best way to store PUPCAT Cookie Bars?
All PUPCAT products are completely free of preservative.  We recommend storing PUPCAT Cookie Bars in an open container.  This will prevent moisture and mold, and will give the cookies a nice hard crunch that your pup will love.  You may also store the cookies in your refrigerator or freezer.
